With distinct, authentic-flavor dishes and attentive service, Thai Luang in Herndon offers its
customers a royal dining experience similar to that of Thai king and queen.
The restaurant, which is named after Thailand's royality, is located at 171 Elden Steet in a commercial complex across from the Elden Plaza.
My goal is to serve authentic food. People say, we have the best food outside Thailand. One of my restaurant's many
renowned dishes is the Crispy Duck, which is specially prepared by the chef. The whole seasoned duck is steamed for three hours and then cut into halves and de-boned before being deep fried. Before serving, the duck is cut into small pieces and cooked with chili sauce, garlic, sweet basil, and garnished with fresh red chili. The authentic dish preserves tenderness and tastiness of the duck but without the grease that often accompanies the meat. People drive from Baltimore and Maryland to eat our Duck. Besides the comparatively known Thai Satay appetizer, a combination of pork, beef and chicken on skewers served with freshly crushed peanut sauce, the restaurant's Ka-Nom Jeep also
contributes to its authentic reputation. Unlike some dumplings that fill your mouth with grease and thick, plain wrapping, Ka-Nom Jeep is prepared steamed with thin, slightly seasoned wrapping that is stuffed with ground pork, black mushrooms and parsley roots. Another authentic feature is Pad Thai, traditional Thai rice noodle.
The long, flat noodle cooked in home-made broth is served with pork, beef, chicken, shrimps or combination of meat with various degrees of spiciness desirable to the customers. A splash of seasonings from the restaurant's authentic condiment tray can add a tasty kick to the dish. After 8 years in business, Thai Luang has earned a local reputation and draws many regular customers.
Thai Luang is family business and every member participates in the operation. I want to create a family
oriented, friendly and cozy atmosphere where people can have high quality food with reasonable prices.
Our waiter staff is adorned in traditional Thai costumes which enhances your dining experience and creates the feeling of being in Thailand.
Thai Luang's ethnic decor enhances the culture atmosphere of the restaurant.
The dining hall is decorated with the pictures of the king and queen of Thailand and family photographs on walls.
